It’s like I’ve just learned that not every entry has to have pages and pages of detailed stories. To celebrate this simple realization well over 2 decades in the making, I will tell you 3 simple facts about my day:
- Oliver did in fact text me back last night and said, “you said not tonight!” Although, the exclamation point may make him sound angry, knowing his character, the mark points to frustration more than anything. And while those weren’t my exact words when we discussed the matter of seeing each other, after seeking a 2nd and 3rd opinion, I can see how he misunderstood. I text him this afternoon after a morning of anger and we agreed to make plans for Wednesday. We’ll see what happens.
- Maria, my closest colleague who hadn’t talked to me for over a month due to office birthday decorations, partly remembers drunkenly apologizing to me at a work-sponsored party last week (celebrating March Madness of course). I don’t trust her judgement anymore, but I do forgive her.
- I have an interview for a job in Carlsbad tomorrow. I’ve thought endlessly and anxiously about the potential move, but I don’t want to get my hopes up.
- As a bonus, I can’t stop listening to “Lover, You Should Have Come Over” by Jeff Buckley.
We’ll see what tomorrow holds.
